Voluntary work in Nepal / Voluntariado en Nepal

Después de haber sido voluntario en Ghana, siempre he mantenido
el interés de ser voluntario en cualquier lugar al que viajo, 
porque brinda la oportunidad de compartir con los locales,
de conocer la cultura más a fondo y porque a la vez permite
aportar algo a una comunidad. 


Este fué el caso en Nepal, que después varios días de ser acosado
por los vendedores que acechan a los turistas,
finalmente conocimos (mi esposa  y yo)  a un orfanato
llamado "Happy Home" quienes se encargan de darle un hogar
a niños que han perdido a sus seres queridos.


Este orfanato estaba interesado en lanzar su página web pero
requerían de fotos de sus hogares y en especial de los niños
para la publicación de la misma; y en nuestro caso estábamos
interesados en una experiencia gratificante y en la búsqueda de un lugar
donde comer y dormir.

The "Happy Home" mission is to provide the homeless and abandoned children of Nepal with shelter, food, healthcare and education.

This program runs in different locations of Nepal - I was in charge of some photographs for their website and it was a great experience to stay a couple of days with the kids - so friendly  and enthusiastic kids - while volunteering I was helping them with their daily tasks.

I really hope that the kids get a better conditions and daily diet on their "Happy Homes". Every volunteer pays a fee weekly or monthly on order to support their living expenses and despite that is an expensive fee they still living in basic conditions.
